Steadfastness
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies shall never come to an end. They are new every morning, new every morning, great is thy faithfulness, oh lord. Great is thy faithfulness – A Hymn written by Edith McNeil.
As I was planning to
start writing this blog, this song came to my mind. This song tells us that God
never stops pouring out his love for us. His faithfulness and his mercies
towards us are continuous and unfaltering.
The theme for 2024 is ‘A
Year Of Increased Faith.’ As my last blog stated; 2024 is about enhancing your
faith in Christ. This year is for walking by faith and not by sight.
As I was on prayer
meeting a few days ago, the title of the meeting was called ‘Declaration to
show steadfastness’ which went perfectly with my blog theme for this.
Steadfastness means ‘the
quality of being resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering.’
One of the scriptures we
looked into was James 1:2 which states; ‘Blessed is the man who remains
steadfast under trial for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown
of life, which God has promised to those who love him.’
This scripture tells us that
there will be times in our lives where we face difficulty and hardship. You may
be facing unemployment, financial difficulties or health concerns. Whatever the
circumstance is, if you remain steadfast and unwavering through the challenging
times, trusting in God, standing strong in faith and not doubting in his
promises for us, we will prosper, we will flourish and most importantly we will
receive the crown of life.
You see, faith is what
pleases God (Hebrews 11:6). Without faith it is unquestionably impossible to
please God. God desires for us to have faith in him. He wants us to feel
reassured and confident in him. God does not want us to doubt, distrust or look
to other things for answers, especially when we feel as though he is not there.
But I am here to remind you that God is always present, he is always with you
and he is always listening to our prayers.
God is always guiding us,
he is always protecting us. God will never leave you, nor forsake you (1 Chronicles
28:20) and I have seen it first-hand. God has never left my side, he has never forgotten
about me, he is always there when I need him. God is always watching over me, he’s
had my back through everything, even when I fall short of the glory of God, he
is there to help me get back on my feet to persevere through this amazing
journey with him.
Another scripture we read
was: Colossians 2:7, which states; ‘rooted and built up in him, strengthened in
the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.’
Things have already
worked out for you, you just need to believe it is already done. When I pray I try
to always thank God in advance for whatever it is my heart desires. I always
thank him as though it is already here. That is how you show faith, by thanking
God for what you’re praying for even if you haven’t see it yet! Even if it has
not come to pass as of yet.
Your faith needs to be
like the roots of a tree, planted in the ground. Strong, unwavering, unmoveable.
Nothing should be able to shake your faith, nothing should cause your faith to
become weakened. This is the year to stand in faith, to stand strong in the
Lord. This is not the year to feel discouraged. This is not the year of doubt.
Trust in the Lord today!
Amen x
